Carol L. Brown, MD

BrownDr. Brown is a board-certified gynecologic oncologist who is the Director of the Office of Diversity Programs in Clinical Care, Research, and Training at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. She holds academic appointments as Associate Attending Surgeon, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and Associate Professor, Obstetrics and Gynecology at Cornell University Weill Medical College, New York, NY.

Dr. Brown currently holds several national committee positions including Advisor for Special Populations for the Gynecologic Oncology Group, and Delegate to the American Medical Association. She is a member of numerous professional societies including the Society of Gynecologic Oncology, the National Medical Association, the American Medical Association, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. Dr. Brown is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and of the American College of Surgeons.

Spotlight

Community outreach played an important role in the 2018 Society of Gynecologic Oncology Annual Meeting on Women’s Cancer, held March 24-27 in New Orleans.

Awareness

September is Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month.  After creating the month in 1999, the Foundation strives to bring attention about these cancers through public awareness campaigns.
