Public Service Award Winner 1997: Larry King

King

Larry King, host of Larry King Live, interviewed Dr. Beth Karlan, the Communication Chair for the Foundation for Women’s Cancer (at that time, named the Gynecologic Cancer Foundation) on his popular evening CNN show.  As a result of the interview and promotion of the Foundation’s hotline, calls increased by over 60% in the subsequent months thanks to the leadership and support of Mr. King.
