Nantais_TomMr. Natais has been with the Henry Ford Health System (HFHS) for nearly 31years and is presently the Chief Operating Officer of the Henry Ford Medical Group, one of the nation’s largest medical groups. His primary role includes the administrative management of the Medical Group’s $900,000,000 operating budget, covering 35 ambulatory sites and 4,000 FTEs, including 1,300 employed physicians, who provide service in over 40 medical and surgical specialties. In addition, Mr. Nantais oversees the Group’s physician compensation programs.

In November of 2011, Mr. Nantais formed a 501c3 public charity, The Belinda Sue Fund for Ovarian Cancer Awareness and Research, Inc., in memory of his late wife Belinda, who died as a result of this disease in August of 2011.  Mr. Nantais is Chairman of the Board and CEO of the Fund.  To date, the Belinda Sue Fund has raised over $230,000 in private donations, which are being used to raise public awareness of the disease and to promote research in developing a definitive screening tool to identify the disease at its earliest stages.

Awareness

The CDC recently announced that fewer than half of American children are given the HPV vaccination.

Research

As of the July 23 deadline, 55 research abstracts were submitted in hopes of receiving one of only 6 grants from the Foundation. This points to a need for more funding so that the Foundation may award grants to every deserving applicant.
