Victoria Bae-Jump, MD

BaejumpDr. Victoria Bae-Jump is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH). She is also a translational cancer researcher at the UNC-CH Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center in the Clinical Research Program.

Dr. Bae-Jump completed her Fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at UNC-CH in 2007. Dr. Bae-Jump received the Foundation for Women’s Cancer/Florence & Marshall Schwid Ovarian Cancer Research Award in 2011. Dr. Bae-Jump’s research efforts are currently being supported by a NIH/NCI K23: Mentored Patient-Oriented Research Career Development Award, a Department of Defense/Ovarian Cancer Research Program (DOD/OCRP): Translational Pilot Award and a UNC-CH Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center: Development Research Award, among others. She is a full member of several organizations, including the Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGO), the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) and the American Society for Clinical Oncology (ASCO).

The CDC recently announced that fewer than half of American children are given the HPV vaccination.

Research

As of the July 23 deadline, 55 research abstracts were submitted in hopes of receiving one of only 6 grants from the Foundation. This points to a need for more funding so that the Foundation may award grants to every deserving applicant.
