WAYS TO GIVE

Donate Online or by Mail

Make your one-time, monthly or annual tax-deductible donation to the Foundation for Women’s Cancer (FWC) online now.

Looking to contribute to Move4Her, FWC’s signature fundraising and awareness event? Visit the Move4Her website.

Mail a donation form with your check or money order (payable to the Foundation for Women’s Cancer) to the Foundation for Women’s Cancer at 26533 Network Place, Chicago, IL 60673-1286.

If you have held stocks for more than one year, you may gift shares to the Foundation for Women’s Cancer, avoid paying any capital gain tax and may qualify for a tax deduction of the current fair market value. The deduction is capped at 30% of the donor’s adjusted gross income, in the year of gift, but eligible for carryover up to 5 years.

Depending on your tax bracket the savings at the max capital gains rate, Net Investment Income Tax and current Illinois tax could be as great as 28.75%. Removing gains from your taxable income also has the effect of reducing Adjusted Gross Income which in turn reduces phase outs and effectively lowers overall tax liability further.

Even with current volatility in the stock market, you may have owned stocks for years or decades, and the current value of your shares may still exceed their purchase price (cost basis). This type of stock makes an effective giving asset.

To make a gift of stocks or mutual funds, please fill out and return this stock donation letter of intention.

A charitable IRA rollover is a gift option that enables donors age 70½ or older to transfer up to $100,000 directly from the donor’s IRA (or IRAs) to a qualified charity each year. The donor does not recognize the IRA transfer as taxable income on his or her tax return. However, the donor does not report or claim the deduction on their tax return.

At current federal and state (Illinois) tax rates, savings could be as great as 42%.

As an additional benefit to reducing Adjustable Gross Income and taxable income, this transfer also counts toward a donor’s required minimum distribution (RMD). Note RMD’s were suspended during 2020 under the CARES Act.

If you have a Donor-Advised Fund (DAF), the Foundation for Women’s Cancer welcomes distributions of any size from your DAF. Please send gifts from your donor-advised fund to:

An FWC tribute or memorial donation offers you a thoughtful way to celebrate a special person or occasion or honor the legacy of a loved one while contributing to our vital mission of advancing awareness and education and investing in research to ultimately eradicate gynecologic cancers. Once we process your information, you will receive an acknowledgement letter, and your honoree will also receive a letter notifying them that you have made a gift in their name—we do not disclose the amount of the gift.

You can also set up your own page for collecting donations in someone’s honor here: https://fwctribute.raisely.com/.

A great way to show your support is to fundraise on behalf of the Foundation for Women’s Cancer through hosting an event, starting a peer-to-peer fundraising campaign, or Facebook fundraiser.

Our dedicated supporters throughout the country are raising awareness and helping support the education and research mission of the Foundation for Women’s Cancer (FWC). They have organized all types of creative fundraising events, including:

  • Runs and walks
  • Dinners, tastings and bake sales
  • Dances and lip sync battles
  • Paint parties
  • Golf tournaments
  • Skydiving events
  • Jewelry parties
  • Car shows

If you’re interested in planning an event, please feel free to contact us to see how we can highlight or support your event. While we cannot provide mailing lists of donors, sponsors or vendors, we can email constituents in your area to help promote your fundraising event. We can also supply you with informational materials explaining our mission, goals and accomplishments.

Everydayhero

Everydayhero is a peer-to-peer fundraising and project-based crowdfunding platform that gives you the power to raise funds on behalf of the FWC. You can support existing events or choose to do your own activity for our cause. Start fundraising today to support those impacted by gynecologic cancers.

Facebook Fundraising

Create a fundraiser on Facebook benefiting the FWC. We receive the donations you collect directly from Facebook.

If your company conducts their own workplace giving drives, you can check with your employer to determine if the FWC could be included among the charities eligible for employee-directed contributions. If eradicating gynecologic cancers has meaning to you, let your company know by contacting your Human Resources Department to get the process started today.

You can double—or possibly triple—the impact of your gift through a matching gift. You can find out if your employer will match your gift by going to or by asking your Human Resources Department if they have a matching gift program. Some companies will even match gifts made by retirees or spouses.

The FWC offers multiple opportunities for corporations to partner in advancing our mission-based programs. Opportunities currently exist to support gynecologic cancer education, awareness and research initiatives. Customizable sponsorship packages are also available. For more information, please contact:
